Mara and Elio had one request: no stiff posing, and a lot of time outside. The ceremony was held on the terrace of Villa dei Cipressi as the light turned gold, with their families seated in a loose half circle under the olive trees.
We spent most of the portrait hour walking the grounds with them, saying very little. The best frames came in between the directions: a quiet laugh, a hand held a beat longer, a veil lifting in the wind.
Dinner was served at a single long table. By the time the candles were lit, nobody was checking a phone.
